Since it was first published in March 2023, “Disability Justice: An Audit Tool” has been downloaded over 8000 times, with new downloads almost every day.
Laura Nash and Near Ash Creative LLC have been supporting Northwest Health Foundation’s communications since 2014. In 2022– 2024, they supported the design and launch of “Disability Justice: An Audit Tool,” written by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha. This included proofreading, design, a landing page, social media posts, emails, video, managing translation for Spanish and plain language English versions, and managing the creation of accompanying illustrated infographics and worksheets.
Leah described receiving requests from hundreds of organizations looking for disability justice trainings and assessments—too many requests to follow through on. She created “Disability Justice: An Audit Tool” as a guide for BIPOC-led organizations to assess and incorporate disability justice into their work.
